The International Congress of Modeling and Simulation I3M has just awarded an article that bears the signature of three members of the UDC-Navantia Joint Research Unit (UMI): Adolfo Lamas Rodríguez, Javier Pernas Álvarez and Inés Taracido López. The three researchers have won the award for a work in which they propose a simulation model in which they use a 3D digital twin in order to optimize the manufacture of offshore structures for offshore wind power.

SAs explained from the UDC, “this model is who to automatically obtain pseudo-optimal programming by applying the same language and criteria as a real project management team.” In addition, the academic institution indicates that «the digital twin of processes provides great fidelity since it incorporates 3D models of the shipyard and the platforms, which allows it to communicate the results with greater efficiency and agility with the intention of accelerating the capture process. of decisions ».
