Navantia will maintain the US Navy ships in Rota

Navantia has been selected through a tender for the repair and maintenance of the US vessels deployed at the Rota Naval Base (Cádiz). The tender has been carried out by the Government of the United States and the Spanish company has been the winner. The contract will run until 2028 for a value of no less than 822 million euros and could generate more than 1,000 direct jobs per year.

The tender and subsequent contract are aimed at the repair and maintenance of the Arleigh Burke-Class destroyers (DDGs) and other US Navy ships that are deployed in the aforementioned base.

The contract signed by Navantia stands out for an extensive contract in labor, high level of technical requirements demanded by the client and the very rigorous compliance with deadlines.

Navantia has its own facilities and personnel deployed in the Cadiz naval base, hence this contract consolidates the structure of the already considered fourth shipyard in the bay, Rota, along with Cádiz, Puerto Real and San Fernando.
