H-TEC SYSTEMS MAN Energy Solutions has announced the acquisition of almost 99% of the shares of H-TEC SYSTEMS, the manufacturer of PEM electrolyzers. Subject to the approval of the competition authorities, MAN Energy Solutions has acquired the shares of the previous majority shareholder.

Green hydrogen on the rise

Dr Uwe Lauber, Managing Director of MAN Energy Solutions, stated: “Green hydrogen is becoming an incredibly important natural resource on our journey to become a climate neutral global economy. With the acquisition of H-TEC SYSTEMS, from now on we will cover all the processing steps of the hydrogen economy. In doing so, we are strategically investing in our expertise as tomorrow’s provider of sustainable energy solutions and giving H-TEC SYSTEMS full access to our sales networks and resources at the same time. “.

Pioneers in H2 and Power-to-X technology

TEC SYSTEMS was founded in 1997 and has more than 20 years of experience in hydrogen research and development. At the production plants in Schleswig-Holstein and Bavaria, Germany, 60 specialists develop batteries and electrolyzers of the megawatt class based on the polymer-electrolyte (PEM) membrane process to meet the hydrogen demand for both industrial hydrogen applications. as for electricity conversion. H-TEC SYSTEMS electrolysers already make efficient sector coupling possible today.

MAN Energy Solutions is also a pioneer in Power-to-X technology, which enables green hydrogen to be converted into climate-neutral fuels. In 2013, the company commissioned the methanization reactor for Europe’s first gas-fired power plant. Since then, MAN has constantly developed PtX technology and offers turnkey plants with a capacity of 50 MW and more today.
